Hi, I'm Gina!

I founded Our Practical Life back in 2020, a few months after I gave birth to my first child. I was trying my best to navigate postpartum while going back to work after just three months of maternity leave in the midst of a global pandemic, and it was HARD. With a lot of help, I was eventually able to find joy in parenting. I realised that I wanted to support other parents who might also be struggling with the demands of modern parenting, the way I had been.

I began by studying child development and alternative education approaches including Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, and Resources for Infant Educators (RiE). I fell in love with the Montessori method and in 2021, I trained as a Montessori Assistant for 0-6 years from the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). In 2024, I completed my certification as a Parent and Life Coach from the Conscious Parenting and Life Coaching Institute.

I bring my unique experience and expertise of working in development and peacebuilding to the parenting world by creating lasting impact going beyond individuals and families, and attempting to radically transform our unequal and unjust social systems while re-centering people of the global majority. I attempt to make peaceful parenting accessible to all.

I feel so privileged to be able to support families and communities as we raise and nurture our future generations.
